Kasago or Scorpionfish, Isaki or Snapper and Shin-shoga or Ginger Root, with poems by Shizugaki Namiyasu and Toshigaki Maharu.  Hiroshige’s fish prints, some from series one, and some from the 2nd series were produced for the Kyoka Poetry Club.  This first series print was introduced and published under the seal 'Eijudo', a print shop owned by Nishimuraya, c1830-32.  This edition by Yuyudo Publishers dates to c1930-40.  The Yuyudo publishing house distinguished themselves as one of the finest publishers in Japan early in the 20th century. They adhered to the same exacting standards of 19th century publishers.  Yuyudo prints are exceptionally well done and very finely printed. This print bears the Yuyudo Publisher stamp in the left margin. It measures 10.5" x 14.5", and the black frame measures 14" x 20".     P9059      $225.00
