Praying Mantis and Bamboo Leaves 
This watercolor depicts a praying mantis climbing a leafy bamboo shoot. It  has a very sketchy style, very painterly. It likely dates to the mid-century period. It bears its artist seal and cipher, but it is unread, so it shall remain a mystery for the moment.
