'Farmhouse and Persimmon Tree'
This woodblock print depicts a large farmhouse with a Persimmon tree laden with fruit in the forefront. People are busy with their work, captured by Saito's eye. Saito produced a whole series of woodblocks with the Persimmon tree and a village as its main subjects, all produced in the early 1970s. This print has rich, lush colors, with the orange Persimmon fruit providing bold color. Saito employed a very edgy, modernistic and contemporary approach in his art (Bio attached), which is well-reflected in this print.  It bears Saito's full signature in the block, along with his 'Kiyoshi' red seal.  This mid-century modern-style woodblock print is in fine condition. The print sight size measures 11" x 15.75", in an ivory mat, and framed in a nice modern metal gold tone frame measuring 15.5" x 20".                         P79412                        $595.00
