Kitagawa Utamaro (1750-1806) 'Folding Fan Seller'

This is a wonderful Utamaro print of three beauties in this lovely design. The women, in informal summer clothing worn at the time of the Niwaka Festival, each holding a fan. It has beautiful soft color against a lovely softly shimmering silvered mica background, a very nice print. This print is in excellent condition. It bears the artist cipher, along with the original publisher's seal. This woodblock print was first produced c1790.  This edition dates to c1950 and measures 12" high by 8 7/8" wide, including margins.    P6017
