'Numazu: Senju of the Ôsakaya'
This lovely print depicts the Courtesan 'Numazu' in a gorgeous kimono, standing by a large lantern. There is a wonderful cartouche, like a painting in the upper right, which identifies the series for this print, but it is unread. It bears a title seal along with censor seals and the seal of the publisher Uchida. Eisen's cipher is present. This print, which was first produced in c1830s-40s, is a later edition, c1940-50, likely reprinted for an anniversary of the artist. The woodblock measures 14.25" x 9.25"and, the very complementary frame measures 17" x 11.75". It is in very fine condition, and professionally framed under UV glass. P4579 $235.00
