Title: 12 'Devine Generals' ('Daring Angel' Totem with 12 faces)
Date: 1963 (online date attribution, with several references noting this print to be by Inagaki Toshijiro, a stencil artist. Notes: According to information listed on the website of The Annex Galleries, Santa Rosa, CA, 'The Mikumo publishing house founded by Mikumo Mokuhansha in 1921, still operates as a publisher of various woodblock artists, including Inagaki Nenjiro, Ogo Tomonosuke, Kawabe Atsushi, Minagawa Taizo, Chiudo Kenichi, and many others who were also often textile designers and ceramicists. Indeed, this is sealed with Mikumo Publisher marks.'

*Impressed Kanji in lower right margin reads 'Kawabe' (first two characters), unable to translate the second two characters, but looks like the Japanese Kanji first character for 'Atsushi'. There are a couple of references online for postcards by Kawabe, and they are all very much like a stencil....the mystery remains... The verso has pencil inscriptions, which read '12' followed by two Kanji characters that translate to 'Devine Generals', followed with 'By Kawabe A', below is inscribed 'Daring Angel'.
Condition: Excellent with ink in (B) margin
