'Yoshida on the Tokaido Road', Series Title: Thirty Six Views of Mt. Fuji (series number: 19)

Terrific print of the famous teahouse along the Tokaido Road, the sign in the foreground proudly proclaiming "Fuji viewing Teahouse." The visitors to the teahouse are relaxed, viewing the mountain in the distance. Terrific, traditional scenery.  This print  measures 8.25" high by 11.75" long, including the margins.  It is in excellent condition, no tears, holes or stains.  It bears Hokusai's Kanji cipher, a series and title box in Kanji script, along with the publisher's seal cleverly scribed on the Coolie's hat in the lower right of the print.  It was originally published c1830 -1834.  This later edition dates to c1970.
