'Spring at the Moat'

This lovely woodblock print depicts three graceful swans on the moat waterway.  It has beautiful color, with a calm serenity.  Published by Unsodo Publshing Co., this print bears the artist seal and the marks of the carver, along with the Unsodo watermark.  This print was first produced in 1957 in an edition of 100.  This edition dates to the same period, 1958, with slight variations in the moat's stone colors, a change made by the publisher in 1957 after the first edition run. The print measures 15" x 10.5", and the frame measures 20" x 14.5". It is matted in a black mat, and a simple black frame. It is in excellent original condition.  Considered one of the top ten shin hanga artists, with an immense body of work, Shiro Kasamatsu's work is known for its simplicity and expressiveness.     P76318      $495.00
