Ito Nisaburo (1910-1988)
A traditional painter and printmaker, Nisaburo Ito studied painting under Bakusen Tsuchida at Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting (now the Kyoto University of the Arts). As a printmaker, he produced several designs with the publisher Uchida. He completed many images of famous places, particularly of sites in Kyoto, and numerous bird and flower prints. Ito's many designs range from minimalist color and composition to strongly traditional imagery inspired by Japanese imagery.
