'Toyoharu of the Chôjiya, Kamuro Tasoya and Takino' from the series 'Models for Fashion: New Year Designs as Fresh as Young Leaves'
This individual print hails from the Folio 'MASTERPIECES of the Japanese Woodblock Print', a Folio, which included 36 tipped-in color woodblock prints after Isoda Koryusai, Hiroshige Ando, Shotei Watanabe, Tosa Mitsuoki, & others, all woodblock prints, c1950 editions. This print by Isoda Koryusai, which was originally published c1778-1780, depicts three Beauties dressed in their 'Sunday Best' wearing interesting black hats, with a black hat box in the foreground. It does not bear Koryusai's cipher, presumably because this print was in a portfolio, along with other prints. It measures 12" high by x 7.75" wide. It has awesome color on thick paper, and it is in great original condition. The right edge shows some stray paper, which is from being tipped in the portfolio, no damage to the print. P3015
