'Tending Lotus Blossoms'

This original watercolor/block-style painting depicts two women, one seated and one standing by a window tending to a blooming Lotus blossom plant. It has a very modern and contemporary style, edgy, yet refreshing in its simplicity. This painting is well-signed with the artist's chop marks. The painting sight size under its double-mat in ivory with a black bead is about 10" square, and the frame measures 14.5" square. This watercolor is in excellent original condition. The colors are superb, and the imagery is quite pleasing. Hu Yongkai is one of the most popular Chinese artists among Western collectors.
