'Miss Apricot-Cloud' d1908

This scarce woodcut print by Helen Hyde entitled 'Miss Apricot-Cloud', depicts a sweet, sweet child in a playpen reaching for her toy, which is out of reach. This lovely print has all the charms of Helen Hyde prints in which children take the center stage in a simple activity that warms the heart. This rarely seen print is numbered 210, in a limited edition, and bears Hyde's seals and signature in pencil, along with the date 1908. The print, which is matted and framed in acid free materials, measures 8" high by 5.5" wide within the mat, and extends under the mat (the name 'Miss Apricot-Cloud' is written in Hyde's pencil on the lower edge of the print), the frame measures 13" high by 11" wide. It is in superb condition. Helen Hyde traveled to Europe and China, and in 1899, she arrived in Japan to begin training with master artist Tomonobu Kano.  Hyde's prints are highly prized by collectors and considered scarce, if not quite rare.   P80033     $695.00
