'Butterflies' d1908

This print is a sweet and charming woodblock by Helen Hyde entitled 'Butterflies'. It captures the innocence of a child's first encounter with these fleeting beauties. They say a group of butterflies is a 'kaleidoscope' and this child finds them just out of reach, absolutely precious. This woodblock is signed in pencil by Helen Hyde, along with her co-joined initials 'HH' and her clover seal. It bears its copyright, along with the date 1908. This print, beautifully matted in ivory, has excellent color and it is in original condition, with just slight toning. The woodblock sight size measures 8" x 3.5", and the vintage gold tone frame measures 10.5" x 8".
