'Farming Family' from the series 'Occupations of the Shōwa Era in Pictures'

This colorful woodblock print depicts an original 1940-1941 edition of the print 'Farming Family', which portrays an idyllic depiction of farm life. The mother breast feeds an infant, while her other children are at play. The series highlighted several occupations and farm life was an important and integral occupation especially during war times. This print is oban-sized and bears Wada's signature and seal in the body of the block. Published by Nishinomiya Shoin, their seals are noted in the lower right margin. This woodblock print measures 11" x 15". It is archivally matted in ivory and framed in a simple black frame measuring 14" x 18".
