'Returning Sails at Gyotoku' from the series 'Eight Views of Edo'

This framed woodblock depicts a very lively scene with boats in full sail, ferrying passengers on their return to Gyotoku.  This series was originally introduced in 1837.  This later edition dates to c1920.  It bears all of its seals, and 'surimono' or poetry of the scene.  It is in fine condition. There is some glare from glass reflection, which looks like light shading in some of the photos, but it is quite uniform for color gradation. The framed size is 19" x 11", and the print size is 14.75" x 9.5".     P6357
