Tokaido Road Series, No. 16 Kambara - Hoeido Edition

This woodblock print depicts Kambara, a mountain village at nightfall under deep snow, through which three people are toiling, one with his head buried in a half open umbrella. The Hoeido edition included 55 woodblock images, and was originally published in 1856.  This later edition dates to c1930s, and bears the artist and publisher seals. This print measures 5.5" high by 7.5" across", and the frame measures 9" x 12", a nice bamboo wood and gilt frame.   P7723       $85.00
