'Yellow-Throated Tanager on a Peony Blossom Branch'

This beautiful hand-painted silk depicts a yellow-throated tanager on a Peony blossom branch, with two bold Peony blossoms, one red and one white in full bloom, with clusters of green foliage. The painting is beautifully executed, and is Japanese in its origins.  It bears the signature and seal of the artist.  The peony blossom symbolizes romance, prosperity, good fortune, a happy marriage, riches, honor, and compassion, but peonies can also mean bashfulness. In fables and myths the peony is tied to a nymph named Paeonia. This silk painting is finely matted in a creamy white silk brocade, and professionally framed in a goldtone and green accent wood frame. The painting size is 12" x 14", and the frame measures 17.5" x 19.5".  It is in fine original condition, with just normal wear. It presents beautifully.     P8813   $165.00
