'A Day for Fishing'
This diptych woodblock print depicts a woman mending a fishnet on the left, and a man stopping to greet her on the right. He has a tacklebox of sorts, and carries a fishing pole. This colorful diptych print, with fine embossing, is likely a tale from a storybook. It probably dates to c1880s when storybooks were commonly found. There are several title boxes, along with ciphers of the artist and publisher, which we cannot decipher. Each sheet measures 4.5" x 6.75", and they are in excellent condition with tiny thread holes in the margins from its original binding. P9512
