'Yokohama Sankei Garden'

This lovely woodblock print depicts an evening scene at Shinobazu Pond (Sankei Garden), with two visitors strolling around the periphery of the pond.  It appears to be spring time, more specifically, cherry blossom time.  Koitsu's use of color is amazing, a stunning print.  This print is an early edition print, published in 1936 by Doi Publishers, and bears their watermark, and kanji cipher.  Koitsu's marks are noted as well.  This print has tape marks in the margins from an old mount, which are hidden by the mat.   P30018
