'Wild Goose Under the Moon' Traditional Japanese Flower and Bird Art
This woodblock print is from 'Issue of Selected Masterpieces from the Maruyama School, Volumes I & II. Editor: Shiichi Tajima published in 1780. This later edition was produced c1910 during a booming tourist trade in Japan. It depicts a large Goose under a full moon, a very traditional Japanese image.
