'Meguro Fudo Temple'
This print depicts a temple scene, with a woman approaching the entrance. It is both tranquil and captivating at the same time, a classic Hasui woodblock print, in which Hasui captures the essence of the shadows of the trees on the flagstone steps. This print was first produced in 1931 by the publisher Watanabe Shôzaburô. This edition is from c1940, in the lifetime of Hasui. It bears Hasui's cipher and seal, as well as the 6mm seal of Watanabe in the lower left of the print. The print sight size is 15" x 10", and the simple black frame measures 18" x 14". It is in good condition, with generalized toning and some mat burn from a previous matting. P60527 $695.00
