'Camping on Washiba Mountain'

Series: Japanese Alps, One of Twelve Subjects

This print depicts a camp scene on Washiba Mountain, with men around a blazing campfire, and the Japanese Alps surrounding them.  There is a body of water by the campfire, reflecting the rocky landscape.  The Alps series is one of Yoshida's more elusive series.  It is a handsome print, with vivid color, which measures 15.25" x 10.75".  This print series was first introduced in 1926.  First editions would bear Yoshida's Jizuri seal.  This is not a first edition, but likely dates to the 1930s.  It has Yoshida's Kanji cipher, along with Yoshida's signature in pencil.  It is in good condition, with generalized toning, and some trimming and small tears in the top margin, which is shown in the photos.   P30027
