'The Blue Umbrella' d1914

This charming woodcut print by Helen Hyde entitled 'The Blue Umbrella', depicts a sweet child under a blue umbrella in a rain shower. This lovely print has all the charms of Helen Hyde prints in which children take the center stage in a simple activity that warms the heart. This print is numbered 291, in a limited edition, and bears Hyde's seals and signature in pencil, along with the date 1914. The print, which is matted and framed in acid free materials, measures 7.25" high by 5.25" wide within the mat, and extends under the mat, the frame measures 13" high by 11" wide. It is in superb condition. Helen Hyde traveled to Europe and China, and in 1899, she arrived in Japan to begin training with master artist Tomonobu Kano.  Hyde's prints are highly prized by collectors and considered scarce, if not quite rare.   P80032     $695.00
