'In Their Holiday Clothes' d1914

Original woodcut print by Helen Hyde entitled 'In Their Holiday Clothes'.  It depicts a family in their 'holiday best'.  A father lovingly holds one child, while a second child stands close by.  The print is marked "Copyright 1914 by Helen Hyde" printed within the upper left border.  It is signed by Helen Hyde in her full signature in pencil, along with her co-joined initials 'HH' at the bottom left.  It is numbered '69' in the lower left corner, its number in the edition.  The print measures 13.5" x 5.25", and the frame measures21.5" x 13.25".  It is framed in a period frame dated 1921 on the backside, framer 'Thulin'.  Helen Hyde began painting in San Francisco, in China town as a young lady, which shaped her career as an artist.  She traveled to Europe and China, and in 1899, she arrived in Japan to begin training with master artist Tomonobu Kano.  Hyde's prints are prized by collectors and considered scarce, if not quite rare.    P80565
