'Day Dreams'

This woodcut print by Helen Hyde entitled 'Day Dreams', depicts an endearing theme of a mother and her child.  They appear to be in a Pine grove, the mother guiding her little girl's hands, teaching her how to handle the toy bunny on a string.  This lovely print has the classic charms of Helen Hyde prints in which the child takes center stage, a simple activity that warms the heart. This print is numbered 183, in a limited edition of 200, and bears Hyde's seals and signature in pencil, along with the date 1901, a nice early print.  It measures 12" in diameter, and it is framed in a gold tone rounded frame measuring 14.5" in diameter.  It is in fine condition.  Helen Hyde traveled to Europe and China, and in 1899, she arrived in Japan to begin training with master artist Tomonobu Kano.  Hyde's prints are highly prized by collectors and considered scarce, if not quite rare.   P80529     $995.00
