This set of original postcard etchings by Akira Sato depict a series of famous temples in Japan, including the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, the Great Buddha of Kamakura and more.  Akira Sato was a renown photographer, particularly for his photographs of women.  He also produced many series of original drawings of Japan's architectural treasures, all in black and white, like his photography, but as etchings. This set of etchings are produced in the traditional method utilizing a woodblock or copper plate.  Each is signed by Sato in the block.  This set has a great mid-century look and they are beautifully matted and framed.   This set of prints, three prints in each frame, measure 16.5" x 8.5", with each individual print measuring 5.5" x 4".  They are in fine, fine condition.        P4327    $110.00
