'Fuchu: Nicho-Machi' from Harimaze series (Cutout) Pictures of the Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road

This miniature woodblock print depicts an original print cut from sheet no. 6 Okabe, Fuchū, Eijiri, Mariko in a harimaze series titled, Pictures of the Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road.  Cutout pictures were produced in numbered sheets, each with several themed images, in this case, the print comes from a Hiroshige cutout sheet from his series Tokaido Road.  It was published in the 1930s, likely by Hideo Takemura or by the Matsumoto-do Co. in Tokyo for the booming tourist trade.  This print measures 3.75" x 2.25", secured to a cream mat with transparent photo corners to protect the print, and the simple wood frame measures 8.25" x 6.25".   It is in good condition with mild toning.             P6010   $65.00
